New Year’s Eve is often a time of celebration, as it’s common to have gatherings to welcome the arrival of the New Year. However, some people may need to get a little shopping done. Whether you’re getting items for a New Year’s Eve party or simply need to restock on groceries, you might be wondering, “Is Costco closed on New Year’s Eve 2025?” If so, here’s everything you need to know.

Is Costco Closed on New Year’s Eve 2025?

No, Costco isn’t closed on New Year’s Eve. However, warehouse stores will have reduced hours in preparation for the holiday. Most Costco locations will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

If you were planning on shopping near closing time on New Year’s Eve, you’ll want to check your preferred Costco location’s schedule in advance. That way, you’ll know if you need to head to Costco earlier than originally planned to ensure you can get what you need on December 31.

Also, it should be noted that Costco is closed on New Year’s Day. So, you’ll need to be prepared for the closure.

Can You Shop at Costco.com on New Year’s Eve?

Costco.com is available to shoppers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including on days when the store closes early (or entirely) for holidays. Just be aware that holidays can impact shipping or pickup timelines, so plan accordingly.

Does Costco Have a New Year’s Eve Sale?

Costco doesn’t typically run a sale specifically for New Year’s Eve. However, there are always ongoing discounts available both in-store and online. You can check the Costco website or the January 2026 coupon book for details about post-holiday markdowns and seasonal clearance events.

Costco 2026 Holiday Schedule

Costco stores close for holidays more often than many other major retailers. That’s a reflection of Costco’s employee- and family-centric approach to business. The corporate office sets the holiday schedule, which applies to all warehouse locations.

Here is a breakdown of the Costco holiday closures for 2026:

  • New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1
  • Easter – Sunday, April 5
  • Memorial Day – Monday, May 25
  • Independence Day – Saturday, July 4 (observed Friday, July 3)
  • Labor Day – Monday, September 7
  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 26
  • Christmas Day – Friday, December 25

Costco also typically closes early on New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve, and the day before Thanksgiving. If you plan to shop late on those days, it’s best to confirm your local store’s hours ahead of time.

Costco’s Regular Operating Hours

Outside of holidays and early closures, most Costco warehouse locations follow a consistent schedule. Use the following as a general guideline:

Costco Warehouse Hours (2025–2026):

  • Monday through Friday – 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday – 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Costco Business Center Hours:

  • Monday through Friday – 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday – 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday – Closed

Some locations may vary slightly, so it’s always smart to check your local Costco’s hours before heading out—especially during the holidays.
