Here are the Kroger Money Services Hours of Operation

Whether you need a money order, cash a check, or you need to send cash via Western Union, Kroger’s money center can help. Some money centers within stores don’t always hold the same hours as the store itself though. So, what are the Kroger money services hours of operation?

What Are Kroger Money Services Hours?

Kroger money services normally open later and close earlier than the rest of the store. Although hours vary depending on location, for the most part, the money services desk opens at 8 a.m and closes at 8 p.m. seven days per week.

If your Kroger location is open 24 hours, money services will not be available 24 hours a day. You can expect them to be available during the hours detailed above, except on major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving when Kroger closes or modifies its hours. Unforeseen events like inclement weather may also cause your local store to close down temporarily.

If you have any specific questions about money services hours, contact your local Kroger directly. You can use the locator tool to find the phone number of the store closest to you.

Services Available At Kroger Money Centers

People looking to utilize Kroger money services may want to know which types of transactions the store assists with. Most Kroger locations offer the following services:

  • Check cashing: Kroger will cash your payroll, government, tax refund, business, and insurance settlement checks up to $5,000 (no started, personal, or third-party checks). Shoppers with a Kroger Shopper’s Card will also get a deal on check-cashing fees. For checks up to $2,000, there is a $3 charge. Checks between $2,000.01 and $5,000 will cost $5.50 to cash. It is important to know that these fees can vary by state depending on local laws. You’ll also need valid state or federal identification to cash a check.

  • Pay bills: You can pay most, if not all, of your bills at Kroger’s Money Service desk. From electric, gas, cable, cell phone, and even mortgage payments, as long as your service provider is one of the more than 20,000 billers the grocer works with, you can pull up and pay your bills. Same-day payment is available for some bills but not all. If you don’t see your biller on the list, you can ask an associate for help. You’ll also receive discounts on these services with your Shopper’s Card.

  • Card cashing: Use your debit card at Kroger Money Services and get cash back. You can get up to $5,000 back for the same fees associated with cashing a check. Another perk with this service is that you can take out the exact amount you need down to the penny.

  • Money orders: You can also purchase money orders at Kroger, up to $1,000. If you need more than $1000, your only real option is to purchase multiple – fees start at $0.69 per money order.

  • Send and receive money: Kroger Money Services also works with Western Union and Ria to help you send and receive money all over the world. You can transfer money to more than 200 countries worldwide within minutes or choose Next Day delivery.

  • Prepaid cards: Whether you need a prepaid card for everyday spending, or travel, Kroger’s Money Services has options for you. With a variety of prepaid debit cards available, including Green Dot and Netspend, you can load money onto your card and use it just like a regular debit card. Many of these cards also offer direct deposit, free ATM networks, and online account management. Fees and terms vary, so be sure to review the details before purchasing.

  • Account funding: Need to reload your online accounts quickly? Kroger Money Services allows you to fund digital wallets and prepaid cards with cash. Whether you’re adding funds to PayPal, Venmo, or other participating accounts, this service provides a fast and secure way to top up your balance without needing a bank account.

As always, if you have any questions about the services or hours, you can call your local Kroger directly for more information.
